Flu vaccines 2021
Given the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic and in keeping with government guidance, the Practice has needed to take extra precautions in order to carry
out this year's flu vaccination clinics whilst ensuring everyone's safety.
With this is mind please ensure you familiarise yourself with the safety information below, prior to attending any flu vaccine appointment
This year's flu vaccination programme is due to begin in early October 2021. Special set clinics will be held on throughout October including at weekends for certain groups.
Flu vaccines are provided to patients who suffer from chronic conditions or have other specific medical reasons.
Eligible conditions / criteria include:
*Over 50 years of age *Chronic Heart Disease
*Diabetes *Certain kidney / liver conditions
*Pregnancy *Asthma, COPD & other certain respiratory conditions
*Stroke patients and certain other neurological conditions
*Those receiving certain medications effecting the immune system

Patients who are eligible for a vaccine due to chronic disease or other specific health conditions should expect to hear from the Practice, via letter, by the early October 2021
If you do not receive a letter by this time and feel you should be eligible, please contact the practice for further advice.
*DO NOT ATTEND if you or anyone in your household has any of the following symptoms:
a) a high temperature b) a new continuous cough c) a loss of taste or smell
*1m social distancing will be in place, you may be required to queue outside in a designated area to facilitate this - be prepared for inclement weather
*Strict hand hygiene measures will be enfored, sanitisation stations will be
available within the practice
*A strict one way system will be in place, entering and exiting via different doors,
as directed by practice staff
*Exit will be from the rear of the building, this will involve descending
approximately 6 steps. If you have poor mobility and will be unable to do this unaided, please advise reception before making an appointment - an alternative appointment will be offered
*Appointments will be flu vaccine purposes only
*Upon entering the building you will be expected to have your left arm exposed
to shoulder height, ready to receive your vaccination
*Due to social distancing and limited space, you must attend your appointment alone (unless under 16)
*No toilet facilities will be available
*You will be directed to exit the building immediately upon receiving your
vaccine
*Appointments are not required simply turn up at the time advised in your invite letter
***Anyone who cannot attend at the time they have been allocated should speak to reception for further guidance***
